Hair Oil

  • Rosemary medicinal benefits: promotes hair growth by helping blood circulation and nourishing hair follicles. May also support nerve healing. Because rosemary is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant, it helps reduce hair loss or thinning, strengthens hair, and delays graying. Rosemary is also antimicrobial which helps with soothing irratations of the skin, combats dandruff, and benefits both dry and oily scalps.

    Castor oil medicinal benefits: promotes hair growth, moisturizes and conditions hair, reduces scalp issues, prevents hair breakage, and may thicken hair.

  • Use 1-2 drops of oil at a time. Drop onto scalp and rub in. It will leave an oily residue, either use before bed or wait and wash out when it is absorbed.

Insect Repellent

  • Peppermint deters insects due to it’s strong scent. The menthol found in peppermint will irritate insects sensory organs. Arachnids (like spiders and ticks) are especially irritated by mint.

    Lemon Balm’s citrus smell is not pleasing to insects and therefor repels them.

    Eucalyptus is highly effective against mosquitoes, even rivaling DEET in some studies!

    Sage has an earthy scent which repels insects but is pleasing to humans.

    Catnip is also part of the mint family which like peppermint, repels insects. It is highly effective in repelling mosquitoes and is 10 times more effective than DEET.

    Holy Basil has a spicy and sweet scent that irritates insects.

    Rosemary overwhelms insects’ sensory system and repels them.

    Citronella is highly effective against mosquitoes by confusing their ability to locate hosts.

  • Spray onto skin and clothes to avoid insect bites. For your face, spray into hands and rub onto face.

    Eucalyptus can induce respiratory issues in young children or if sprayed too close to nose or mouth. Use caution. It is in tincture form which is milder than essential oil form.

Sunscreen

  • Coconut Oil is moisturizing for the skin, helping to provide UV protection as well.

    Zinc oxide powder is highly effective against UVA and UVB rays. It is effective immediately when applied.

    Beeswax acts as a stabilizer to keep it solid in high temperatures.

  • Rub fingers on sunscreen to help loosen, then apply onto skin. Keep rubbing sunscreen in until fully absorbed. It will leave a light white layer, but this won’t last too long if rubbed into skin completely. Avoid getting into eyes or mouth.

Healing Salve

  • Lemon Balm medicinal benefits include: cold sores, acne, eczema, dermatitis, minor wounds, insect bites, hyperpigmentation, aging skin.

    Calendula medicinal benefits: wounds, cuts, eczema, dermatitis, acne, rash, psoriasis, sunburns, minor burns, dry or chapped skin.

    Plantain medicinal benefits: wounds, cuts, scrapes, insect bites, insect stings, eczema, dermatitis, burns, sunburns, rashes, mild poison ivy rash, acne, boils, dry or cracked skin.

    Dandelion medicinal benefits: acne, eczema, psoriasis, againg skin, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, skin infections, irritations, dry or dull skin.

  • Rub a small amount on the affected area as needed.

    Healing Salve will hold it’s shape but since there are no preservatives, it may change in how hard or soft it is.

Sunburn Relief

  • Lavender is anti-inflammatory and has calming properties. Lavender’s scent can help reduce stress which will help in overall recovery. Lavender will help repair skin while also helping with pain reduction.

  • Spray onto skin where burned. If spraying on face, close eyes.

Herbal Steam for allergies

  • Stinging Nettle medicinal benfits are: anti-inflammatory, antihistamine, antioxidant, mucus membrane support, immune modulation, and more. This is the perfect herb to manage allergies!

    Salt, when inhaling, is halotherapy and supports the respiratory system by thining mucus, reducing irritation, hydrating membranes, and improving airflow.

  • Scoop 1 tablespoon of herbs and place in 1 cup of water in a pot on the stovetop. Warm water until it is steaming consistently, do not bring it to a boil as that kills the medicinal value. Take pot off stove, place on a hot pad on the table. Lean over the pot, not too closely to avoid burns, and inhale through the nose. Continue for as long as you can handle or until steam is no longer present. Compost the remains.

Facial Serum

  • Dandelion medicinal benefits: acne, eczema, psoriasis, againg skin, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, uneven skin tone, skin infections, irritations, dry or dull skin.

    Bergamot is anti-inflammatory which soothes irritated skin, has sebum regulation which helps balance oil production, wound healing and scar reduction, antioxidant support can reduce againg and wrinkles.

  • Place 1-3 drops into your hands, rub together, and then rub onto face daily. The oil may take a bit to absorb into the skin, this is normal

Lotion bar

  • Calendula medicinal benefits: wounds, cuts, eczema, dermatitis, acne, rash, psoriasis, sunburns, minor burns, dry or chapped skin.

  • Rub onto skin where desired. It may take your skin a few days to learn to absorb the oils. It is natural for your skin to keep the lotion at the surface, but it will absorb after a few minutes. You may also need to keep rubbing as well.

    Lotion Bar will hold it’s shape but since there are no preservatives, it may change in how hard or soft it is.

All Natural Deodorant

  • Purify essentail oil includes these herbs:

    Citronella is anti-fungal which is especially useful in humid environments. It’s astringent qualities help regulate sebum production reducing oil and preventing clogged pores. Citronella also has deodorizing properties because of it’s fresh citrus scent.

    Melaleuca is antibacterial and inhibits odor causing bacteria. It is also anti-inflammatory and soothing to the skin.

  • Scoop a pea sized to dime sized amount (this will be dependent on weather and your activity level) onto your finger, then rub into armpit. Continue rubbing until it is fully absorbed.

    The all natural deodorant will hold it’s shape but since there are no preservatives, it may change in how hard or soft it is.

    It is very common for people to go through a detoxification period when switching to a natural deodorant that has zero preservatives! You may experience a rash, this is normal. The armpit is a sensitive place and accumulates a lot of toxins. Use the Healing Salve at night after washing armpits clean. If rash persists after a few days, contact me via email for a plantain oil free of charge. Other store bought natural deodorants still use preservatives which is why you wont go through a detox period with those. This deodorant still has a shelf life of over 1 year even without preservatives.
